Therapy

  • Therapy at BAMC consists of Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. The department is unique in that they provide all three disciplines under one roof.
  • Therapy is located in the Mobility Center located across the street from BAMC. The Mobility Center has 20 individual treatment rooms, a 16x20 warm water therapy pool, a pediatric gym and a 3,000 square foot exercise area.
  • Therapy at BAMC has expanded to surrounding areas via their outreach clinics in Crivitz, Wisconsin and Stephenson, Michigan.
  • In 2007, the therapy departments performed 6,390 inpatient procedures and 50,571 outpatient procedures.
  • Within the past year, BAMC has purchased an unweighting system, home exercise program software, and over 20 lap top computers for electronic documentation.
  • In 2008, the department plans to purchase a new treadmill, laser, ultrasound/electrical stimulation unit, force gauge for job site analysis, and a digital hand/pinch strength kit.
  • Rehabilitation staff perform all documentation electronically. This helps to increase staff communication and efficiency with writing patients notes.
  • The Therapy department at BAMC consists of a rather large staff. The department is made up of 6 PTs, 5 PTAs, 2 OTRs, 3 COTAs and 2 SLPs.
  • The Therapy staff works well together. There is a combination of new and experienced therapists; all of whom have good relationships with the doctors and staff at BAMC.
