In addition to a competitive salary, Bay Area Medical Center also offers these excellent benefits. Additional benefits may apply based on position. Contact Human Resources for a comprehensive list of benefits on a specific position.

Health Insurance: A group health insurance plan is available to all employees who hold 50% or greater positions. New employees become eligible for coverage the first day of the month following 30 days of employment. The health plan provides three tiers of coverage. Premium stays the same whether part-time or full-time. Select Wellness services paid 100%. Prescription drug coverage through BAMC pharmacies. Open enrollment every July. Specifics regarding coverage details and employee contribution amounts are available from Human Resources.

Dental Insurance: For employees who hold 50% or greater positions, Bay Area Medical Center makes available a dental insurance plan that includes Orthodontia coverage for a reasonable premium. The effective date of the dental plan is the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Coverage details and employee contribution amounts are available in Human Resources.

Retirement Plan: Safe Harbor 401(k) plan with employer contributions. Enrollment into plan after 1000 hours, 1 year of service, age 21, and the following January or July. Employees may elect to contribute a portion of their own compensation into the plan. Employees may participate in employee contributions on date of hire and any time after. On-site retirement advising available from the Plan’s Retirement Advisor, the 2nd Tuesday and 4th Thursday of every month. Please call x3114 to schedule an appointment.

Paid Time Off Plan: Accrued paid time off package available for all employees who hold 50% or greater positions. Employees begin earning points on their first day of employment.

Short Term Disability Insurance: To offer employees financial protection against disabilities due to illness or accident, BAMC provides a short term disability insurance plan for employees at no cost to the employee. For employees who hold 50% or greater positions. Coverage begins after 6 month waiting period.

Long Term Disability Insurance: Financial protection against extended disabilities due to illness or accident. Available to 50% or greater. Coverage begins after 6 month waiting period.

Life Insurance: After six months of employment, all employees who hold 50% or greater positions are covered by a hospital-paid term life insurance policy that includes accidental death, as well as specified benefits for physical losses sustained as a result of an accident.

Flexible Spending: Reimbursement for certain qualified healthcare and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars. Available to all employees who hold 50% or greater positions. Enrollment every November.

Continuing Education: To allow employees to improve their job skills and/or prepare themselves for another health care career needed by the Hospital. Reimbursement may be granted to eligible employees for educational courses, conferences or seminars. See Human Resources for details.

Fitness Reimbursement Incentive: Reimbursement for health club memberships for all employees who hold 50% or greater positions.
