Bay Area Medical Center believes that total patient care requires attention to the spiritual and emotional as well as physical needs of each patient. The chaplain at BAMC can be reached Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The chaplain assists patients and family members in times of crisis. Trained to help patients, doctors, family members and staff with medical ethics issues, the BAMC chaplain also acts as liaison with local clergy, informing them when their parishioners have been hospitalized. BAMC has a nondenominational chapel, located on the second floor near the patient rooms, where anyone can visit for quiet meditation, prayer or reflection. BAMC also hosts a quarterly memorial service for friends and family members of those who have passed away at the hospital.
