The women's center offers osteoporosis screenings. During youth, new bone mass is added and old bone mass is removed. As people age, the amount of new bone mass created decreases and the amount of old bone mass increases, causing bones to become weak and fragile. Women are at a higher risk for osteoporosis than men. Regular screenings can help prevent osteoporosis and reduce bone loss.
The Cardiac Center at BAMC educates women about the importance of reducing and controlling cardiac risk factors. Women are offered a variety of opportunities to assess cardiac risk factors and are given support to improve their diet, reduce stress and change their lifestyle to improve their overall health. Regular screenings, educational programs, workshops and consultative services are also available.
The Women's Health Center sees patients Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call 715.735.4216.
