Ultrasound department consists of 3 technologists with over 22 years of cumulative service who are registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
Ultrasound uses high frequency sound waves to produce exact images of body organs. The department has 4 machines, 3 Phillips and a GE unit which produces superior image quality of vascular structure and complex masses in breast tissue.
The department performs multiple exams including vascular and echocardiography. Echocardiography is accredited with the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission and must meet standards for image quality, staff continuing education, and machine quality standards.
Exams performed by ultrasound include, organs of the abdominal cavity, major vessels, studies of heart function and fetal growth.
