Ambulance services

Bay Area Medical Center (BAMC) provides 2 paramedic-level teams that are available to respond to the needs of the community day or night. Our ambulance service operates 4 transporting ambulances and a quick-response vehicle which is used to provide advanced life support (ALS) intercept services to outlying emergency medical services agencies. BAMC's primary service area for 911 responses includes the cities of Marinette and Peshtigo, Wisconsin, and Menominee, Michigan, as well as portions of the surrounding townships.

  • 911 response.
  • Critical care interfacility transport.
    • Our ambulance service transports critically ill and injured patients from BAMC to specialty centers. The critical care service allows for patients to continue receiving many of the treatments that were started in the emergency department.
  • Paramedic intercept.
    • Bringing ALS to the rural areas of Marinette, Menominee and Oconto counties.
  • When not on ambulance calls, ambulance staff assists other caregivers in the emergency department.

When calling 911

  • The 911 dispatcher will verify your name, phone number and the location you are calling from.
  • Make sure your house number or fire number is visible from the roadway.
  • Have the patient's medications (both prescription and nonprescription) available to be transported with the patient to BAMC. Our staff will need the original medication bottles or a medication list that includes the name of the medication, dosage and how frequently it is taken.
  • Please secure pets in another room for everyone's safety.
  • Turn on the porch light at night.
  • If there is someone available, it is helpful to have a person stand at the roadway to direct the ambulance.
