Neuromuscular disease

Neuromuscular disorders affect the nerves that allow you to control muscles, such as in your arms and legs. When diseases are present, the signals that help to communicate movement break down and movement can become more difficult. As the disease progresses, muscles become weaker and waste away. Bay Area Medical Center's (BAMC) team of therapists—with specialized training in neuromuscular and musculoskeletal rehabilitation—provides a full range of 1-on-1 therapy in a personal and friendly environment that is geared toward helping you improve functional mobility and independence.
