Bay Area Medical Center's Athletic Trainers (ATC) work with a number of high school and youth sports teams. Having a comprehensive program connected to a community medical center allows our program to offer:
- Same day appointments with Bay Area Medical Center Surgeons
- 24 hour call back on sports medicine DI tests (MRI, CT, bone scan, etc)
- "Sports Pass"
- If an Emergency Department (ED) physician see s a sports injury in the ED, and they feel it is a strain/sprain type of condition (where an orthopedic consult is not necessary), they will refer the patient to therapy.
- Sports Medicine Hotline
- Parents can call and an ATC will answer injury or illness questions.
- Pre-Participation Sports Physicals
- "Curbside Consults" for non-high school age athletes
- Health and Wellness Fairs
- "Sidelines" Sports Medicine Newsletter
